Good things come to those who wait

Guess what I finally got a chance to try today? Pineapple Chobani! And it was awesome. The pineapple flavor is made with 2% yogurt instead of fat-free and the extra bit of fat made the texture so creamy. It had about 20-30 more calories than the fat-free kinds, but it was definitely worth it. The pineapple was sort of reminiscent of the pineapple that you’d find in pre-mixed pineapple and cottage cheese. It was sweet, but not overly so like the honey and blueberry were. I loved it! Of course, this is the flavor that I’ve never seen in any of the stores around here, but maybe someday. If you see this flavor, definitely give it a try.

I had a great snack, but a very mediocre dinner. I thawed a piece of Kroger Wild Salmon, seasoned and baked it in parchment paper with spinach and goat cheese. Sounds good, right? It really wasn’t. I think it’s the frozen fish. I feel like I’ve written about this before. Or maybe the frozen fish from Kroger? I buy frozen fish from TJ’s sometimes and it tastes fine. With the fish, I had sauteed zucchini and mushrooms. Unfortunately, since my dinner was less than satisfying, I did a lot of picking around in the fridge. I’m not going to even get into what I ate, but it was definitely a lot. I never know what to do when I don’t like what I’ve made. I mean, if it’s really horrible, I’ll throw it away. But today’s dinner was just mediocre. So do I eat it? Eh.

I managed to tear myself away from the kitchen and made my way to the gym. My workouts have generally been either 100% running based, or elliptical + weights based. I just don’t feel like lifting weights after I’ve run. Today, I did 20 minutes on the Arc Trainer and then a modified NRLFW workout. I don’t know if this program is going to work if I keep modifying it! Anyway, this is what I did

seated leg press, 110 lbs, 3 sets of 10
push-ups on my knees, 3 sets of 10
seated row, 40 lbs, 3 sets of 10
tuck jumps, 3 sets of 10
prone jacknife on the stability ball, 3 sets of 12

After, the gym, I stopped at CVS to get some razors. I left $50 poorer. That always happens to me in CVS. I could buy the entire store. Tonight, I decided that I needed eye cream. I don’t have wrinkles around my eyes (yet), but I feel like I’m at the age where I should be using a creme to prevent them. Let’s see if I actually use it. I also bought a new moisturizer. I’ve always been very lucky to have pretty clear skin, but I figure that I should stop taking that for granted.

    That always happens to me at CVS or places like it, too. What’s with us?!

  2. I just bought some eye cream too. I’m starting to get circles underneath my eyes. I felt so old buying it. šŸ˜‰

    Meh – I’m not a big fan of the Kroger frozen fish either. It always falls apart on me.

  4. Frozen fish makes me nervous! I’m not sure why, b/c I can’t say that I’ve ever made fish at home.

    I do the same thing at Target… go in with a few items on the list and come out with 10 more things that I “needed!”

  5. Agggh – CVS. It’s always a trap! Target is REALLY bad for me, though. I try not to go there often, which is hard because it’s one of my favorite stores.

  6. I’m like that with Walgreens! I always have to get a flavored water, have to get a chocolate bar, have to get the cute box of kleenex, have to get the cute headbands for when I’m running, ohhhhh geeeeez… such a trap! šŸ™‚

  7. That happens to me too when I go to the store to buy deodorant or some other beauty product, I leave with WAY more!

  8. Yup! The random products get me all the time! I’m all over eye cream – started wearing it in college! hehe Great workout! And tres sorry about the salmon. I’ve never cooked in parchment – the recipe sounds awesome!
