Sick and Tired or Just Tired?

I had dinner last night with three girlfriends. We actually all went to high school together in Maryland but ended up living in Atlanta. I see them all pretty regularly, but not at the same time, so it was nice to have all four of us at one dinner. We went to Mali. I really like the food there but the service was terrible. Our food took a really long time and instead of coming to the table to apologize for the wait, our server seemed to just ignore us. Oh well. There was a lot of fun conversation going on, so it was okay. I split three sushi rolls with my friend Emily. Sushi seems to be the only seafood that I like these days. I didn’t take any pictures because it was very dark in the restaurant.

After dinner, I came home and started not to feel like I was coming down with something. My throat was a little bit scratchy and I was a little sniffly and sneezy. Plus, I was really cold and went to bed in a sweatshirt. (That happens sometimes though, it’s not that weird.) I slept in until after 9.

I still felt sort of off this morning but felt okay enough to do my 8 mile run. My friend Joan came over around 1:30 and we set off.

Our run went well. I felt great the whole time. I think that doing these weekly tempo and speedwork runs is really paying off. Running at a slower pace for a longer distance feels good. In previous years, I’d always run at the same pace in all my runs and the long run felt, well, long.

Our run was about 7.8 miles, but I took Murphy for a half mile walk after so that counted for something.

I took a shower and started to make a grocery list and started to feel bad. I don’t know if I was just tired from the run or sick. I honestly felt like I needed to put my head down at the table so I went into my room and took an hour nap. I still cannot tell if this is a cold coming on strong or I’m just exhausted from the run.

  6. I go to a sushi restaurant that has the WORST service of any restaurant in the world, but it’s a half mile from my apartment so I just deal with it. Glad you could catch up with your friend!

I hope you’re feeling better today.

  7. Either way, hope you feel better soon!

  8. I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. I’ve been having the same problem with bad service at Mali more and more lately. I love their food, but we always get a ridiculously bad table and wait too long for food while being either ignored completely or asked the same questions by three different people.

  9. Nice run! I love longer, slower runs.

I hope you get to feeling better!
